Stites, Idaho

June 24th, 2o12: We stopped at a small store in tiny Stites for a breakfast of devilled eggs and donuts. Store clerk Martha Meisner proudly displays her framed poster of the history of Stites. It was a thriving town during the gold rush and the site of a battle between the U.S. Army and the Nez Perce. She lamented that soon Stites would be a ghost town.
