Alder, Montana

July 2nd, 2012: The view from our campsite on a beautiful morning following a hail storm the prior evening. The piles of dirt are tailings (leftovers) from gold mining days. Fortunately Skip had befriended a local mining engineer and executive (who also happens to be in the Jazz Hall of Fame for his talent of playing the spoons which we witnessed at the local Pioneer Bar!) who took us out to dinner!
